Marion John was born on April 27th, 1920 in Sibley, Iowa. Marion John's father was John Onken and his mother was Matilda Hindt. His maternal grandparents were Richard F. Hindt and Frauke "Fannie" Smith. He had three sisters named Ilona Mae, Leona Gale and Lorraine Faye. He was the oldest of the four children.-
