Gilbert Giffard

Gilbert was born in 1191. Gilbert's father was Elias III Helias Giffard and his mother was Maud de Berkeley. His paternal grandparents were Elias II Giffard and Berta FitzRichard De Clifford; his maternal grandparents were Maurice 'Make-Peace' fitz Robert de Berkeley and Alice de Berkeley. He had four brothers and a sister, named Walter, Sir Elias IV, Thomas, Osbert and Berta. He was the youngest of the six children.
