Her paternal grandparents were Richard Comyn and Hextilda FitzUchtred; her maternal grandfather was Fergus Colhan. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, William, Fergus, Margaret, Elizabeth and Agnes. She was the third youngest of the seven children. She had a half-brother named Richard.-
