Mary Ann Berends 
Mary Ann was born on July 19th, 1876 in Grundy County, Iowa. Mary Ann's father was Fred Berends and her mother was Jessie Kruger. Her maternal grandparents were Christian (Chris) Eilers Kruger and Neone Klaasson Soorholz. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Jacob Henry, Chris Cleveland, Nona Caroline, Lottie Maud, Tillie Lenore, Dena Laverna and Allie Grace. She was the oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 73 on April 19th, 1950.-
