Roger was born in 1584 in Clint, Yorkshire, England. Roger's father was Marmaduke Beckwith and his mother was Ann Dynley. His paternal grandparents were Robert Huntington Beckwith and Jennet. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, William, Symon, Matthew, Jane, Alice, Grace, Anne and Catherine. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died in Aldsborough, Yorkshire, England. He was buried in Masham Church in Yorkshire, England.-
