Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg was born about 1244 in Lüneburg, Hannover, Prussia.  Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg's father was Otto I "das Kind" and her mother was Margravine of Brandenburg Mathilde.  Her paternal grandparents were Duke of Brunswick Wilhelm and Princess of Denmark Helene; her maternal grandparents were II Albrecht and Margravine of Lower Lusatia Mathilde. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Duke of Brunswick, Albrecht, I, Duke of Brunswick, Matilde, Duchess of Brunswick, Duchess of Brunswick, Duchess of Brunswick and Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg.  She was the second youngest of the ten children.  She died on June 12th, 1274 in Marburg, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia.  She was buried in St. Elisabethkirche, Marburg, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia.
