Arnulf's father was Roger De Montgomery Vicomte and his mother was Mabel de Belleme, Dame d'Alencon. His paternal grandparents were Roger I De Montgomery and Josceline De PONTEAUDEMER; his maternal grandparents were William II Talvas and Hildeburge de Beaumont. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Robert II , Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger, Robert de Alencon, Hughes , Earl of Shrewsbury, Philip, Roger "The Poitevin", Roger , Count of La Mar, Maurice, Maud, Matilda, Emma , Abbess of Almen and Sybil.-
