Matilda was born on January 5th, 1822 in Center Twp.,Gibson Co.,IN.1 Matilda's father was William Terry and her mother was Barbara Ennis. Her paternal grandparents were John Terry and Esther Brown; her maternal grandparents were UNKNOWN Unknown and Elizabeth Ennis. She had three brothers and six sisters, named William, Martin, John, UNKNOWN, Melinda, Nancy Jane, Hettie "Easter", Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" and Serena. She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.
