Mary (Polly) was born on January 17th, 1773 in Spotsylvania County,Virginia. Mary (Polly)'s father was Robert Shepherd and her mother was Sarah Rash. Her paternal grandparents were George Shepherd and Elizabeth Mary Angelique Day; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Rash and Mary Warren. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named John, James, Elizabeth, Nancy Ann, Rhoda, Sarah, Frances (Fanny), Rebecca and Agnes Jane. She died after 1850.-
