Hendrik was born on June 3rd, 1870 in Nieuwkoop,Zuid Holland,Netherland.  Hendrik's father was Pieter SCHELLINGERHOUT and his mother was Elisabeth KRUISHAAR.  His paternal grandparents were Gijsbert SCHELLINGERHOUT and Marrigje PIJPER. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Gijsbert, Gerrit, Arie, Pieter, Bastiaan, Anna, Stijntje, Steintje, Johanna and Elisabeth.  He was the youngest of the eleven children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Gysbert, Klaas, Jan, Marrigje and Jansje.  He died at the age of 1 on December 21st, 1871 in Nieuwkoop,Zuid Holland,Netherland.
