Joseph Hayden was born about 1808. Joseph Hayden's father was Unknown and his mother was Mary Rash. His maternal grandparents were Joseph Rash and Mildred (Milly) Isbell. He had a brother and two sisters, named David Peyton, Cynthia L. and Fanny. He was the oldest of the four children.
