Joseph READ 
Joseph was born on December 11th, 1732 in Freetown,Bristol Co.,Massachusetts. Joseph's father was Oliver READ and his mother was Martha DURFEE. His paternal grandparents were John REED JR JR. and Mary PIERCE; his maternal grandparents were Thomas DURFEE and Ann FREEBORN. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Oliver, Jonathan, Nathan, Benjamin, Gideon, Mary and Wait. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 59 in 1791.General Notes
