Perlina was born in 1847. Perlina's father was Willis E. Pierson and her mother was Mary. Her paternal grandparents were William Pierson and Nancy Fitzsimmons. She had three brothers and a sister, named Robert, John W., Archey and Margaret. She was the second youngest of the five children.-
