John W. was born in 1842. John W.'s father was Willis E. Pierson and his mother was Mary. His paternal grandparents were William Pierson and Nancy Fitzsimmons. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Archey, Margaret and Perlina. He was the second oldest of the five children.-
