Octavius Studdert was born in 1869 in of,,Waterford,Ireland. Octavius Studdert's father was George William Maunsell Major and his mother was Alice Creagh. His paternal grandparents were Edward Eyre Maunsell Reverend and Elizabeth Maria Studdert. He had nine brothers named Charles Edward Osborne, Herbert Henry Creagh, Edward Whitford Eyre, Henry Butson, George Christmas, Frederick Osborne Eyre, James Henry Creagh, William Granville Eyre and George Frederick Massey.
