William Haynes Kilby 
William Haynes was born in 1806 in Wilkes County,North Carolina. William Haynes' father was Abraham Kilby and his mother was Mary Elizabeth (Betsey) Rash. His paternal grandparents were William Kilby and Frances Eddins; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Rash and Mildred (Milly) Isbell. He had two brothers and four sisters, named James Linville, Abraham, Sarah, Lucinda Virginia, Frances and Mathilda. He was the third oldest of the seven children.-
