Her paternal grandparents were Edward Kemeys Esquire and Joan Lewis; her maternal grandparents were William Jones Esquire and Jane Gwillim. She had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Nicholas, Charles, Edmund, Edward, Letitia, Anne and Catherine. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named George and Mary.
