Martha was born in 1598 in ,Over Wallop,Hampshire,England.  Martha's father was Thomas KENT and her mother was Ellen PILE PYLE. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Phillip, Richard, Thomas, David, John, Stephen, Phillis, Joan Joanna and Mary.  She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.
