John was born in 1602 in ,Over Wallop,Hampshire,England.  John's father was Thomas KENT and his mother was Ellen PILE PYLE. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Phillip, Richard, Thomas, David, Stephen, Phillis, Joan Joanna, Martha and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.
