Mary Ann was born in 1832 in Penalt,Mon. and her baptism took place on March 18th, 1832 in Penalt,Monmouth,England. Mary Ann's father was Isaac Herbert,Jr. and her mother was Mary Dixon. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Herbert and Anne Davies; her maternal grandparents were Christopher Dixon and Mary Davies. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Rowland, Isaac, Elijah, John, Isaac, George, William, Elizabeth, Ann, Eliza and Decinna.
