John was born in 1828 in Penalt,Mon. and his baptism took place on March 16th, 1828 in Penalt,Monmouth,England. John's father was Isaac Herbert,Jr. and his mother was Mary Dixon. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Herbert and Anne Davies; his maternal grandparents were Christopher Dixon and Mary Davies.
