Elizabeth was born in 1784 in Penalt,Mon. and her baptism took place on July 11th, 1784 in Penalt,Monmouths,England.  Elizabeth's father was Isaac Herbert and her mother was Anne Davies.  Her maternal grandparents were John Davies and Elizabeth Rowlands. She had five brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas, Isaac, Thomas, Philip and Ann.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.
