John William Dewees 
John William was born in 1842 in Licking County,Ohio. John William's father was Alonzo Dewees and his mother was Sarah Ann Carlin. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Dewees and Mary (Polly) Dugan; his maternal grandparents were poss Philip Carlin and Sarah Wilson. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Leroy A., Perry C, George W., Wilson, Homer E., Mary Jane, Charlotte, Lucinda and Margaret A. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 75 on December 17th, 1917 in Columbus,Franklin County,Ohio 75 yr old. He was buried on December 18th, 1917 in Columbus,Franklin County,Ohio Green Lawn Cemetery.-
