Cornelius Dewees 
Cornelius was born in 1716 in Kent County,Delaware. Cornelius' father was Lewis-Lambertus Dewees and his mother was Mary Wheeler. His paternal grandparents were Garrett Hendricksz de Wees and Sytie Lieuwes; his maternal grandparents were John Wheeler and Ruth------- UNKNOWN. He had four brothers named William, Hezekiah, Samuel and Jonathan. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 75 in 1791 in Kent County,Delaware.-
