Isham was born in 1757 in Prince Edward or Cumberland Co.,VA.1 Isham's father was Joshua Chaffin and his mother was Esther. His paternal grandfather was John Chaffin. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Ephraim, Jesse, John, Joseph, Joshua, Rhoda, Thomas, Anne, Easter and Sarah. He died at the age of 66 in 1823 in Wilkes Co.,GA.1 General Notes
