His paternal grandparents were Gilbert "Crispin" Count De BRIONNE and Gunnora D'AUNOU. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Roger, Walter, Richard De, Gilbert FitzRichard De, Miss (Fitzgilbert) De, Ronais Fitz, Rohese Fitzrichard De and Adeliza De.
