The War Dept. record of Capt. Francis Bealmear is----
He served in the War of 1812 as a Lieutenant in Captain Benjamin Mulikins Detachment, 2nd Regiment Maryland Militia, stationed at Annapolis, MD. Entered service april 14, 1813 and was discharged May 18, 1813. Appointed Captain July 10, 1814 and again entered duty at Annapolis. Discharged Aug 17, 1814. On Aug. 18th his Company was attached to the 32nd (Hood's) Regiment MD Militia and he continued in service until Sept 8, 1814 on which date he was discharged at Baltimore. There is no Pension Claim in his name.
The Census of 1810 AACo, MD gives his name as Francis Belmier. His family consisted of 3 males under 10, one between 10 and 16 and one between 26 and 45; one female under 10, one 10 to 16, and one 26 to 45. He had 16 slaves. E. R. Kidwell 12-7-32 (from Emmett Shute's notes)
