Michel was born on January 7th, 1599 in Tourouvre, France.1 Michel's father was Thomas Michael Rivard and his mother was Jehanne Chevreau. His paternal grandparents were Unknown Rivard and Francoise Chasteau; his maternal grandparents were Robert Rheaume and Marie-Françoise Chevreau. He had four brothers and a sister, named Pierre Nicholas Rivard, Nicholas, Marin, Sebastien and Marie. He was the second oldest of the six children.-
