Francoise's father was Joseph Prou and her mother was Marie Joseph Dupont.  Her paternal grandparents were Pierre Proux and Marie Gautier; her maternal grandparents were Gilles Dupont and Francoise Michelle. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Jean Baptiste, Joseph Rene, Marie Antoinette, Marie Jeanne Celeste and Marie Joseph.
