Marie Francoise was born on March 21st, 1710 in Trois Rivieres, Quebec.1 Marie Francoise's father was Jean Baptiste Pothier and her mother was Marie Etienette Beauvais. Her paternal grandparents were Jean Pothier and Marguerite De Xaintes Saniles; her maternal grandparents were Jacques Beauvais Dit St Jeme and Jeanne Solde. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named Jean Alexis, Guillaume, Joseph Maire, Jean-Baptiste, Michel, Marie Louise, Marie Barbie, Marie Catherine, Marie Louise, Unnamed, Jeanne Marguerite and Marie-Madeleine.
