Jean Baptiste was born on April 12th, 1719.1 Jean Baptiste's father was Jacques Pepin and his mother was Elizabeth (Isabelle) Dufresne. His paternal grandparents were Jacques Pepin and Marie-Jeanne Caiet; his maternal grandparents were Jean Baptiste Dufresne and Marie Marsal. He had six brothers and a sister, named Jacques, Jacques, Joseph, Touissant, Basile, Pierre and Elisabeth. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.-
