Hugh's father was Richard Gobion and his mother was Agnes De Merlay. His paternal grandparents were Richard Gobion and Beatrice De Lucelles; his maternal grandparents were Roger De Merlay and Alice De Stuteville. He had a brother named Richard. He died in 1275.General Notes
Hugh Gobion, son and heir; succeeded his father before 27 Dec. 1230.
In 1225 he held six different Merlay lands in Yorkshire obtained through his
mother, Agnes Merlay. Hedied in 1275.
