Marie Anne was born on February 10th, 1703 in Trois Rivieres, Quebec.1 Marie Anne's father was Mathieu Courier Bourgignon and her mother was Marie Madeleine Vanasse. Her paternal grandparents were Pierre Courier and Perinne Caia; her maternal grandparents were Francois Noel Vanasse Dit Precour and Jeanne Fourier. She had two brothers and a sister, named Antoine, Joseph and Marie Madeleine. She was the second youngest of the four children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Pierre and Charlotte Catherine.-
