Joseph was born on January 24th, 1702 in La Prairie, Quebec. Joseph's father was Pierre Bourdeau and his mother was Marguerite Lefebvre. His paternal grandparents were Pierre Bourdeau and Caterine Janier\Sunier; his maternal grandparents were Pierre Lefebvre and Marie Marguerite Gagne. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Pierre, Laurent, Marie Marguerite Francoise, Marie Catherine, Suzanne Francoise and Anne Catherine. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Pierre, Dominique Andre and Marguerite.-
