Robert of Cornwall & Mortaigne was born in 1031 in Mortagne-au-Perche, Orne, Normandy, France. His paternal grandfather was Earl Jean of Toneburgh & Conteville; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert of Falaise and Doda. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named The Conqueror, The Conqueror and Adelaideof Aumale. He died at the age of 64 on December 8th, 1095 in , Normandy.
