Mathilda (Maud) of Sachsen was born about 0958 in Bourgogne, France. Mathilda (Maud) of Sachsen's father was Duke Hermann Billung of Sachsen and her mother was Hildegardis of Westerburg. Her paternal grandparents were Graf Billung in Sachsen and Ferderunda. She had a brother and two sisters, named Bernhard I of Sachsen, Mathilda of Sachsen and Suanhildeof Sachsen. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died on May 25th, 1008.General Notes
