Louis I, known as The debonaire, was born on April 16th, 0778 in Herbet, Casseneuil, Lot-et-Garonne, France. The debonaire's father was Emperor Charlemagne Hre and his mother was Hildegardeof Schwaben. His paternal grandparents were King Pepin III of Franks (Le bref -The short) and Bertrade(Bertha) of Laon (Bertha Broadfoot); his maternal grandparents were Duke Gerold I of Swaben and Imma (Emma) of Allemania. He had two brothers and a sister, named Charles of Aachen, Pepin of Italy and Bertha. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Charles of Aachen, Hugo, Duodene of France, Alpais (Adaltrude), Duodene of France and Alpais (Adaltrude). He died at the age of 62 on April 30th, 0840 in Ingelheim, Rhinehessen, Hesse. He was buried on June 20th, 0840 in Aachen, Rheinland, Preussen.General Notes
