His paternal grandparents were Visc Richard Goz of Avranches and Emme of Conteville. He had three sisters named Maud or Matilda, Helga de and Geva d'. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother named Richard d'. He died on November 25th, 1120.-
