Robert was born about 1765. Robert's father was James Young and his mother was Mary McComb. His paternal grandparents were John Young and UNKNOWN Elizabeth; his maternal grandparents were Andrew McComb and Jane Raeburn. He had four brothers and six sisters, named William, Thomas, James, Andrew, Margaret, Peggy, Elizabeth, Mary, Jean and Agnes. He was the oldest of the eleven children.-
