Laura Frances' father was George Washington Stone and her mother was Elizabeth A. Bowman. Her paternal grandparents were James Joseph Stone and Mary M. Davenport. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William Edward, Benjamin George, Dean Emberson, Eva Linona, Maggie Lillian and Ida May.
They had seven sons and four daughters, named Elmer, Ephraim, George Lewis, James Edgar, Rolland Thomas, William Clarence, Dean Elza, Ethel May, Eva Elizabeth, Mary Esther and Sarah Ellen.
