David was born in 1835 in Shelby,IN. David's father was William MORRIS and his mother was Martha J. Young. His maternal grandparents were James Young and Mary Guyn. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Caleb, James, William C., Arminta, Eliza Jane, Mary Ann, Martha Ellen and Matilda. He was the second youngest of the nine children.-
