Samuel Alexander was born on April 29th, 1810. Samuel Alexander's father was Alexander McClung and his mother was Jane McClung. His paternal grandparents were Thomas McClung and Nancy Black; his maternal grandfather was Samuel McClung. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Charles, Thomas, Rebecca and Nancy Black.
