William Kinkead was born in 1786. William Kinkead's father was Joseph Gwin and his mother was Mary Jane Kinkead. His paternal grandparents were Robert Gwin and Jane Or Jean Kinkead. He had six brothers and five sisters, named John, Jehu, Moses, James, Joseph, Robert, Mary Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Jane, Virginia and Andrea. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.-
