Christopher Hazen was born on April 1st, 1891. Christopher Hazen's father was Issac Calhoun and his mother was Anna Guenill Hansen. His paternal grandparents were David Calhoun and Delilah Geary. He had a brother and five sisters, named Charles Issac, Mary Iowa, Eliza Irene, Alma Delliah, Blanche Guenill and Iola Virginia. He was the third youngest of the seven children.-
