Nathaniel F was born about 1832 in Pennsylvania. Nathaniel F's father was Martin Ames and his mother was Hannah UNKNOWN. His paternal grandparents were Jabez Ames and Elizabeth Smith. He had three brothers and six sisters, named John W, William S, James, Candius, Mary, Sabrina, Catharine, Hannah and Jane. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.General Notes
