Alvia was born on September 19th, 1847 in Wayne Co,Ohio. Alvia's father was James Ames and her mother was Mary Ann Maxwell. Her paternal grandparents were Nehemia Ames and Frances Craven. She had three brothers and a sister, named Harvey D, James, Harmon and Mary Ann. She was the second oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Otis, Enos, Catherine and Belle.General Notes
