Joan (of Somerset) was born about 1406. Joan (of Somerset)'s father was John (1st Earl of Somerset) Beaufort and her mother was Margaret (of Kent) Holland. Her paternal grandparents were John "Of Gaunt" of England and Catherine de Roet; her maternal grandparents were Thomas II d'Holland and Alice FitzAlan. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Henry (2nd Earl of Somerset), John (1st Duke of Somerset), Thomas (Earl of Perche), Edmund (2nd Duke of Somerset), Joan and Margaret (of Somerset). She died on July 15th, 1445 in Dunbar Castle. She was buried in Monastry of Charterhouse Perth.-
