James Zike 
James was born on May 10th, 1836. James' father was David Zike and his mother was Mildred Jane Haggard. His paternal grandparents were John Zike and Susannah Smith. He had five brothers named John, Harvey, William E., Allen and Charles Lewis. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 70 in 1906 in Cumberland County, Illinois. He was buried in Cumberland Farm, Cumberland County, Illinois.General Notes
James and Henretta had 10 sons that all died in infancy. All the sons
were older than Mary Ellen.
They lived in Tuscola, Illinois and moved to Mattoon, Illinois.
