Thomas Masterson 
Thomas was born about 1770 in Virginia. Thomas' father was John Masterson and his mother was Sarah Tobin. His paternal grandparents were Edward, Sr. Masterson and Mary Lindsay; his maternal grandparents were James Tobin and Esther ?. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Richard, Mary and Sarah. He died in 1812 in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.General Notes
Thomas moved to Mason Co., KY to land inherited from his father. Then he
moved to Tennessee. Thomas may have been a lawyer. See notes on sister
Mary's husband, Daniel Hank. He had a co-partnership with John Sample and
James Gorden in the town of Franklin, Tennessee. He owned real and
personal property in Franklin, Nashville and "Where ever it may be
found." This includes the land in Mason and Lewis Counties, KY on Licking
Creek", wold by his sons in the 1830's.
Thomas left two sons, one born after he died.
‌Thomas and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony on December 2nd, 1807 in Rutherford Co., TN. They had two sons named Thomas Gilbert and William Washington.

Thomas Gilbert was born on December 16th, 1812. He died at the age of 69 on May 18th, 1882.
