Frank worked on the Pennsylvania railroad most of his working days and retired at the age of 69. He became interested in radio in the very early days and had one of the very first sets. Frank made his first one out of an oats box with the little crystal and cat whisker. He had one set of earphones which he would turn one side out so a second person could listen also. The Indianapolis stations were WLK and WOH. In December 1922, he got the first horn, a brass one for Christmas. Frank bought their first car, a model T Ford in 1922.
